About Moleynyapens
Moleynyapens is an independent editorial index of hotels, grouped into four categories: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. It exists because these are the four kinds of hotel people most often search for by type rather than by destination, and because the writing about them is usually either promotional or thin.
How entries are written
Each entry is a short piece of prose describing what a property is, what kind of building it occupies, roughly where it sits and what is generally true about staying there. We deliberately avoid specification tables, because a grid of attributes tells you less about a hotel than two honest paragraphs do.
We keep to facts that are stable and general in character — the era a building comes from, the format of its rooms, the landscape or district around it. We do not publish prices, seasonal availability or anything else that goes out of date the week after it is written.
What we do not do
- No star ratings and no review scores. We are not a rating body.
- No guest reviews, real or otherwise.
- No booking, reservation or availability functionality of any kind.
- No commercial arrangements that determine which hotels are listed.
Geography
The index is geo-neutral. Entries are chosen because they illustrate a category well, not because they belong to a particular country, and the site is not written from the perspective of a local guide anywhere.
Casino hotels
Properties in the casino category are described as hotels first. A gaming floor is one facility of the building, alongside its restaurants, theatres, meeting rooms and setting, and we write about it that way. Nothing on this site encourages gambling or offers guidance about it.
